Statement by the Foreign Ministry of the Republic of Armenia to the statement of the Foreign Ministry of Turkey
We strongly condemn Turkey’s provocative policy in our region, and value the cooperation of all forces interested in the stability of the region.
Since September 27, 2020 military forces of Azerbaijan carry out targeted intensive attacks towards civilian settlements and peaceful population of Armenia and Arstakh (Nagorno Karabakh).
And all these factors clearly demonstrate a policy by Azerbaijan of ethnic cleansing and terror-inspiring means against the Armenian civilian population.
We strongly condemn Turkey’s provocative actions and demand the immediate withdrawal of the Turkish armed forces, including the air force from the conflict zone.
We consider the armed attack of Azerbaijan to be another link in the chain of mass and systematic attacks against the population of the Republic of Artsakh, carried out by Azerbaijan throughout the conflict, both in times of peace and war, which is qualified by international law as a crime against humanity.
Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan clearly presented the position of the Republic of Armenia on the current situation at the session of the Government held on July 23.
