The 11th SunChild International Environmental Festival (IEF) is dedicated to the biggest environmental challenge on our Earth - the climate change. A total of 30 newest environmental films from all over the world, most of which uncover various aspects of the main climate change theme, will be screened/showed in the framework of the Festival, on November 4 – 8, 2022.
The three categories/nominations of the SunChild IEF film-program are: Feature films about climate change, Short films about climate change, Children's films about climate change.
In addition to the films in the aforementioned categories, some films on climate change will be shown also outside the main competition program.
This year, the Festival also incorporates a novel Green Reporters’ School initiative scheduled to take place on November 11-14. This newly designed platform for intensive learning targets the development of eco-journalism in Armenia by improving the quality of environmental journalistic investigation and reporting, primarily, among the young people/youth engaged in Мass Мedia sector.
SunChild International Environmental Festival was established in 2007 by the “Foundation for the Preservation of Wildlife and Cultural Assets” (FPWC). It is the first and, up to date, one of a kind eco-cultural-educational event of such scale in the entire South Caucasus region.
Since its founding, SunChild has been bridging members of local and international communities concerned with nature conservation issues. The festival serves as a platform for instigating dialogue, raising public’s awareness, and promoting creative solutions to the existing environmental threats and problems.
The official partners of the 11th SunChild IEF are Viva-MTS, the US Forest Service, and the Friedrich Ebert Foundation.
