On September 27, Azerbaijan has initiated unprovoked hostilities against Armenia & Artsakh, planned well in advance, thoroughly and in coordination with Turkey.
On October 12, in order to stand for peace in Nagorno-Karabakh, the Armenian community of Estonia has organised a peaceful march that took take place at 14:15 starting from the Armenian church (address: Tartu mnt 16A, Tallinn) and ending at Vabaduse väljak approximately at 16:15.
The march is aimed to call for peace in the disputed region, as well as urge to stop terrorism and war crimes committed against the Armenian people living in Nagorno-Karabakh that are fighting for their right to live in their historic lands and to exercise self-determination. The march is aimed to call for humanity to speak up and take action.
We do not have any issues with Azerbaijani people, nor do we blame them. We stand against the terroristic policies of Azerbaijani and Turkish governments and for peace in Nagorno-Karabakh.
The war on the Nagorno-Karabakh border has been going on for 16 days leaving many casualties on both sides. Turkey is directly, politically, and militarily involved in the conflict in support of Azerbaijan against the Armenian people. It is already a well documented fact investigated and stated by The Guardian, Reuters and Al Jazeera that Turkey is recruiting terrorist rebel fighters, as mercenaries, from Syria and Libya and transporting them to Azerbaijan to fight against the Armenian people.
In gross violation of international humanitarian law and human rights, Azerbaijan and Turkey are targeting civilians and journalists. The reports of civilian losses and damage is corroborated through evidence, including images found here, here, here, here, here, and here. Images and video published by journalists reporting from Artsakh (Nagorno Karabakh), including from foreign media journalists, clearly show the bombing of peaceful settlements in the cities of Stepanakert, Hadrut, Martuni, and Martakert, all located in the territory of Artsakh (Nagorno Karabakh Republic). Those can be accessed here, here, here, here, and here. Media correspondents and civilians are deliberately targeted by the Azerbaijani-Turkish forces. On October 8, Azerbaijan shelled twice Ghazanchetsots Holy All-Savior Cathedral (Ղազանչեցոց Սուրբ Ամենափրկիչ Մայր Տաճար). The aftermath of these two strikes are apparent here, here, and here.
The Artsakh Defense Forces are taking all necessary measures to defend from the attacks. Armenians are fighting international terrorism for their very existence. Only international recognition can help against the destruction of a small nation, because only then will the legal mechanisms necessary to stabilize the situation come into force! But today, for the 16th day in a row, young boys, aged 18-20, are now sacrificing their lives for peace instead of enjoying life, they are dying in the name of peace and their motherland.
It is the duty of all of us to stop this as soon as possible! We do not want losses from any sides. We want peace.
